JOB DESCRIPTION Outstanding Dental Laboratory Technician Opportunity, Cannon AFB, Clovis, NM * Excellent Pay & Benefits! * Full Time Position Days, Monday – Friday! * NO Weekends! NO Holidays! NO Call! Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. SUMMARY: Fabricates and repairs dental and maxillofacial prostheses and appliances. DUTIES: The duties include but are not limited to the following: * Performs procedures to fabricate and repair complete dental prostheses, fixed and removable partial dental prostheses, and individual crowns, inlays, pontics, splints, stabilizers, and space maintainers. Uses precious and nonprecious metals, acrylic resins, and porcelain as basic materials. * Maintains dental laboratory records. Prepares reports on laboratory activities. Requisitions, stores, and issues supplies. Inspects equipment and performs minor maintenance. * Reports defective equipment or utilities for corrective action. Accounts for precious metals expended. Inspects and evaluates administrative and technical procedures. * Interprets inspection findings and recommends corrective action. Consults and coordinates with dental surgeon for improving procedures. Institutes corrective measures, and maintains follow-up action to ensure adequacy and compliance. QUALIFICATIONS * Education: Completion of a dental laboratory course is mandatory. * Experience: 1) Must have 12 months experience in the last 18 months as a Dental Laboratory Technician. 2) Experience fabricating prosthodontic restorations including fixed gold and porcelain fused to metal, and denture and orthodontic appliance fabrications. Also, experience performing and supervising functions such as fabricating and repairing dental prostheses and appliances. * Certification: Possess and maintain a current BLS certification (American Heart Association – Healthcare Provider). * Knowledge Qualification: Knowledge is mandatory of: oral anatomy and physiology; inorganic chemistry; metallurgy fundamentals; dental laboratory technology; dental material physical and chemical properties; dental laboratory equipment and maintenance; sterile techniques; and administration. * Must be a U.S citizen and have the ability to pass a background check/security clearance. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Staffing and Scheduling: * Usual Duty Hours for this position are between the hours of 0730 - 1630 Monday - Friday, to include an 8 hour shift and an uncompensated one hour lunch.
